Obituary of Fred BUHRMAN, Washington County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Mike Jones Fred Buhrman Obituary Submitted by Mike Jones. Fred Buhrman, whose death was mentioned in our last issue, was born in Prussia, Germany, Nov. 15, 1842, and came to America when about 23 years of age. In 1868 he was united in marriage with Carolina Wilhelmina Schnake and they settled in Nashville township. They lived on a farm for many years, later retiring and removing to Oakdale. The wife passed away there Jan. 11. The aged man had been in frail health for several months and on Feb. 21 was stricken with apoplexy. His death followed Monday, March 2, at 11:30 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Reuter, where he had been tenderly cared for. Those left to mourn his death are: Five children, Mary, Mrs. Edw. F. Reuter of Oakdale, Magdalena, Mrs. Otto Hoffman of St. Louis, William and Henry of south of here and George of Boone, Iowa; two brothers, two sisters, ten grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. The funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Reuter home in Oakdale and in the Evangelical church here, of which Mr. Buhrman had always been a faithful member. Rev. C.H. Kluge officiated at the obsequies.
