Obituary of Burrell H CORNWELL, Wayne County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Burrell H. Cornwell   Uncle Dim, a son of Edward and Nancy Cornwell, was born in Orange County, Indiana, April 4, 1840, and departed this life November 8, 1927 at the age of eighty-seven years, seven months and four days.   When a young man he came to Illinois where he met Martha Irwin with whom he was united in marriage in 1865.  To this union seven children were born, two dying in infancy, five remaining. Those surviving are:  Henry of La-Junta, Colo.; Warren, Ross and Will of Rinard and Mrs. Clara Pedicord, the daughter who resided with and cared for her father.   He leaves eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren besides other relatives and many friends.    His companion passed away in 1894 since which time he has had the care and devotion of children to contribute as much as possible to his welfare and happiness.   Brother Cornwell was energetic and very industrious contributing with other early pioneers to the development and improvement of this part of the country.  His honor and faithfulness to his principles were well marked in his life.  His word was as good as his bond and unswervingly he stood by the noble principles of true manhood and citizenship. He professed hope in his master and more than forty years ago cast his lot with the Primitive Baptist church whose principles he loved and to which he proved faithful to the end.   God's grace that found him when a lost sinner comforted him in his life here, when suffering was his portion, uncomplainingly he bore it patiently. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations or persons.
