Obituary of Cloyd McDOWELL, Wayne County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Whitney Proffitt Newspaper: unknown, (Wayne Co., IL), Date: Sept. 1987 CLOYD McDOWELL, 81, DIES; RETIRED MASSILON FARMER Cloyd McDOWELL, 81, a well known former Massilon township farmer, was found dead at his home in Olney Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, 1987. According to family members, Mr. McDOWELL had been in failing health due to cancer and heart problems. He was the father of Mrs. Martin (Imogene) KAUBLE of rural Fairfield. Funeral Friday Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. L. B. Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery, located south of Mt. Erie. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. McDOWELL was born in Massilon township in Wayne County Mar. 9, 1906, the son of Ed and Minnie (ILE) McDOWELL. He was a farmer in Massilon township, south of Mt. Erie, until he retired and moved to Olney.
