Biography of Elijah Foster, M. D., White County, Illinois SOURCE: History of White Co 1883 Elijah Foster, M. D., Norris City, was born in Clermont County, 0., Nov.22,1824. He is a son of Francis Foster, of Virginia, who settled in Ohio in an early day. He was reared on a farm. He graduated from the Eclectic Medical School of Cincinnati in 1855, and settled in Gallatin County, Ill., the same year. He began practice in New Market, and remained there seven years. In 1862 he came to this county, going first to Roland, and in 1875 came to Norris City, where he has built up a good practice. He was married in 1856, to Minnie Ware, who died in a few months. In 1862 he married Mollie J., daughter of William McGill, of this township.
