To the end therefore that Said property may be collected and preserved for those who may appear to have a legal right or interest therein we do hereby appoint James McAllister of the County and State aforesaid Administrator of all and Singular The goods and chattels rights and credits which were of the Said Edward McAllister at the time of his decease with full power and authority to Secure and collect the Said property , and debts wheresoever the Same may be found in this State and in general to do and perform all other acts which now or hereafter may be required of him by law. Witness: James Ratcliff Judge of the court of probate at Carmi this 3rd day of June A D 1833 Ja.. Ratcliff J.P.C.W.C. And afterwards (viz) on the 28th day of March 1835 at a court of probate held at the probate office in Carmi before James Ratcliff Judge thereof came the Said James McAllister Administrator of the estate of Edward McAllister dec’d who made it appear to the satisfaction of Page 103 the said court that due and legal notice had been given of his intentions to make final Settlement of Said estate whereupon the Said Administrator charges himself with the amount of the proceeds of personal property as per bills filed. To Cash on hand $ 87.20 Two notes 1. on F. McMullin & 1, on Drake with int. 14.79 Amt Sale bill of goods & chattels 14.87 Amt 2nd Sale bill date 15 Nov 1833 44.25 Amt 3rd do do 4 Dec 1834 48.18 Amount collected of F. McMullin 23.12/232.43 And administrator pays an allowance for the following payments & C, A. Haskinson for Coffin 5.00 Peter Slater a/c 4.00 John Grove a/c 1.00 Gatewood & Oliver 1.25 Paid Taxes for 1832 & 1834 7.20 E. B.
