Mrs. SANDERS was 80 years old and a resident of the Village of Emma for the past 30 years. She had been in failing health for sometime and had been cared for in the Wilmar Restorium since February. Mrs. SANDERS was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on September 20, 1880, the daughter of Columbus and Jane PHELPS. She was married to John SANDERS and they moved from Hawthorne Township to Emma. He died February 10, 1955. She was converted early in life and united with the Baptist Church in Bowling Green. Mrs. SANDERS is survived by six sons, John Henry, Ras, James and Tom SANDERS, all of Carmi and Clyde and Frank SANDERS, both of Emma; three daughters, Mrs. Vernie Browning of Emma, Mrs. Vennie Wallace of Buckner and Mrs. Beulah FRYMIRE of Maunie; 43 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Bingman and Mrs. Bessie Yates preceded her in death. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Concord Methodist church with the Rev. Doyle Boggs officiating. Burial will be in the Concord church cemetery.
