(Currey) Ferris, natives of Indiana, who came to Whiteside County in 1871, settling in the township of Tampico, where Mr. F. died, May 18, 1877; Mrs. F. survives. Their children were nine in number, namely: Edwin C., Ralph, John, Albert, Lucy, Mary, Chester, Noble and Nora. Mr. Ferris, of this sketch, was born in Metamora, Franklin Co., Ind., March 4, 1859, and was 12 years of age when his parents came with him to this county. In 1882 he purchased 80 acres of land in Hahnaman Township, to which he added 80 more in 1884, on section 7, where he resides. All his land is good. Mr. Ferris was married, in this township, Oct. 12, 1882, to Rebecca J., daughter of A. J. Glassburn; see sketch of the latter in this work. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris have become the parents of two children,— Daisy M. and Clarence E. In his political relations Mr. Ferris is identified with the Republican party.
