(Trautman) Wolfersperger, natives of the same State. Remaining at home until 31 years of age, he came to Jordan Township, this county, and bought a saw-mill and 100 acres of land, where he remained three and a half years. In the fall of 1853 he entered 240 acres, in the same township; in the following spring he entered 80 acres more; and in the fall of 1854 he moved upon this tract, aggregating at the time 320 acres. He resided upon that place until 1883, when he went to Kansas and spent a winter there to attend the tract of 960 acres of land which he had bought in 1873. In 1884 he returned to Sterling and purchased a residence, which he now occupies. He has, since his first purchases of land, bought and sold real estate, so that he is now the proprietor of a total amount of 720 acres in Jordan Township, and 1,600 acres in Prairie Co., Ark. In his political principles, Mr. W. is a Democrat. He and his family attend the Lutheran Church. He was married Oct. 20, 1844, to Lydia A. Kapp, a native of the Keystone State, and they now have four children living,—Henry F., Aaron, Cassie and Margaret. Henry F. married Tillie Duefflinger, and they live in Kansas, with a family of six children,— John, Dan, Lydia, Maggie, Maud and Bent. Aaron married Anna Hendricks, and they have two children,—Lelia and John J. Cassie married William Seidel and they reside in Kansas. Margaret married W. W. Davis, and they have one son,—John Davis.
