Obituary for Mrs William Rowe Whiteside County, Illinois Obit Mrs. Wm. Rowe an aged lady and old resident of this place (Tampico, WHiteside Co. IL) died at her home in the wester part of town Tuesday a.m. @9:40 after an illness of about six weeks duration. Death resulted in an accident whish she sustained six weeks ago when she fell breaking her limb. The unfortunate accident kept her bedfast and with her advanced years her constitution was not able to battle successfully and she gradually failed until the end came. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ray W. BARBER and internment will be in the Tampico cemetery. The deceased was born at Niles, Michigan. Jan 16, 1844 where she reasided until she was six years old when the family removed to New York State. At the age of twelve she moved to Yorktown, Illinois, with her parents where on Oct 20, 1860 she married William ROWE. The couple lived south of Yorktown for nine years when they removed to Annawan. It was at this place that she joined the Baptist church. She resided there for nine years and then returned to this vicinity. Three children were born of this union, one died ininfancy, two survive, they are Cora GLEASON of AKRON, OHIO, and Lilly TONKINSON of this place. She was also the foster mother of Earl FREEBY of EARLVILLE & Violet RESBURG of YORKTOWN. She was one of the most faithful members of the Tampico Baptist Church and one of the most humble and devoted. She was also a member of the W.R.C. Mrs Rowe was a good woman, loved and respected in this community.
