She was united in marriage to James Lyon on Sept. 20, 1880, at Indianola, Nebraska, and they came immediately to their homestead two miles East of Trenton. This was their home until after Mr. Lyon's death on September 5, 1911. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lyon. Three have preceded their mother in death., Aubrey and Charles, who died in infancy, and Ray, who passed away in September, 1925. The eight surviving children are: Bert and Mrs. Ray Smith of Trenton; Will of Reno, Nevada; Clair of Wakeeney, Kansas, Harve of McCook; Otho and Mrs harry McClain of Denver; and Mrs. Roy Smith of Goodland, Kansas. Mrs Lyon is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers, many other relatives and a host of friends. Additional Comments: Lucy was noted for being a sainted Pioneer lady of the community. Lucy was the daughter of John and Hulda Mary Pearsen Schofield.
