F. Russell, a prominent citizen of Joliet and Will County, dropped dead at his home this morning, of heart disease. He has for many years occupied a prominent position in local affairs, having filled the office of Circuit Clerk for a period of eight years, and at other times were Assistant United States Assessor, President of the Will County Agricultural and Mechanical Association, and filled other important offices. Only a week ago, while in the act of cleaning a pistol it was discharged into his breast, and his life was miraculously saved by the bullet striking a button. It is thought the shock hurried his death. He held a policy in the Protection Life for $10,000.
