The saddest case was that of Mrs. William Grace, the wife of an old and respected citizen, who was struck by lightning as she was passing under a tree in the rear of her residence on South Joliet street about seven o'clock. At the same time a man, whose name is yet unknown, was struck and fell dead on the sidewalk. The place where he met his death was remote from trees or conductors of any kind.
