The Inter-Ocean [Chicago IL] January 22, 1876
Twenty-eight murderers were hanged yesterday, two of them in Illinois. Henry 
Jacobs, who choked his wife to death at Lockport last May, perished on the 
same gallows on which Perteet expiated a similar crime. Marshall Crain was 
executed at Marion for murders in connection with the Bulliner feud in 
Williamson County. Full particulars will be found in another column.
