Visitation from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Riegle will officiate. Burial will be in Peotone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peotone American Legion Post 392, where he was a member and past commander; or to the Peotone American Cancer Society Relay For Life. He was a retired carpenter, employed by Local 1889 for over 30 years. Born April 25, 1948, in Joliet, the son of Lloyd and Doris Sjo Froehner. He enjoyed frying fish for the fish fries at the American Legion and working with the "Gifts to the Yanks" program. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart, along with many other medals and awards. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone. He was a huge race enthusiast, avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan; He was a very proud and devoted husband, father and father-in-law and adored his two granddaughters. Surviving: Wife, the former Donna Bisping, whom he married November 2, 1974, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone; 2 daughters and one son-in-law, Heather and Joe Iwanus of Manteno, Angela Froehner of Peotone; 2 granddaughters, Macy and Ayla; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Paul and LaVerne Froehner of Peotone; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Duane Temme of Peotone; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Hack of Peotone, Eugene and Jeannie Bisping, Glenn and Florence Bisping, all of Elwood, and Joyce and George Krankoski of Frankfort. A survived by several nieces and nephews; and the entire Maple Lane Gang. Preceded in death by two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, LeRoy and Audrea Bisping, and Wally Hack. (Pd.)
