Born February 18, 1920, in Peotone. Owner of the Cottage Bakery in Peotone WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving on D-Day at Omaha Beach, in the Battle of the Bulge, at Ramagen Bridge and in the Thrust to the Elb. Awarded a Bronze Star. Member of First United Presbyterian Church of Peotone and Peotone American Legion Post #392. Survived by his wife, Doris (Ganson) Kruger, whom he married on May 30, 1952; 1 son, Milton (Maureen J.) Kruger of Spring Lake, Michigan; 1 daughter, Jean Kruger (John) Hicks of Wheaton; 2 grandchildren, Kurt Kruger and Jackson Hicks. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Addie (Peck) Kruger. Funeral October 5 at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone. Rev. Jonathan Krogh officiated. Cremation rites were accorded. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Legacy Fund, P.O.
