Russell Kruger, Peotone, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Bickford House in 
Bourbonnais.

Born February 18, 1920, in Peotone.
Owner of the Cottage Bakery in Peotone 
WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving on D-Day at Omaha Beach, in the Battle of the 
Bulge, at Ramagen Bridge and in the Thrust to the Elb. 
Awarded a Bronze Star. 
Member of First United Presbyterian Church of Peotone and Peotone American 
Legion Post #392. 
Survived by his wife, Doris (Ganson) Kruger, whom he married on May 30, 1952; 
1 son, Milton (Maureen J.) Kruger of Spring Lake, Michigan; 
1 daughter, Jean Kruger (John) Hicks of Wheaton; 
2 grandchildren, Kurt Kruger and Jackson Hicks. 
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Addie (Peck) Kruger. 
Funeral October 5 at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone. 
Rev. Jonathan Krogh officiated. 
Cremation rites were accorded. 
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Legacy Fund, P.O. Box 1055, 
Indianapolis, IN 46206.
