Visitation: Noon, Monday, November 26 til the 1 p.m. service Ford-Baier Funeral Home, 306 E. Lincoln Street, Buckley Rev. Barb Lohrbach will officiate. Burial: Peotone Cemetery. Memorials: Christ Lutheran High School, Buckley. Born June 24, 1937, in Peotone, to George Conrad and Mary Margaret Wiffen Lohrbach. 1956 graduate of Peotone High School Worked at the locker plant in Peotone during high school Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from March 1957 to October 1959. Part-time police officer for the Village of Peotone until moving to Buckley in 1973. Meat cutter for Joe Knaga in the Kankakee area Janitor for St. John's Lutheran School Driving school bus in the Buckley-Loda area Meat cutter for Illini Institutional Foods in Rantoul until 1998 Member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley Member of the Marine Corps League, the Buckley American Legion Post, the AMVETS, the Sportsman's Club and the Izaak Walton League Bred and showed golden retrievers 4-H leader for the Iroquois County Mounties Horseman for many years and an avid lover of the outdoors During his years in the nursing home, he was well-known for his green thumb, taking care of the plants for all the residents.
