McCanna, 42, assistant chief of police, who died here this morning. The services will be at St. Patrick's Catholic church at Mount Olivet cemetery, Joliet. McCanna was a victim of typhoid fever. He was a member of the Joliet police department 19 years. He became a captain in 1927 and was promoted to assistant chief 18 months ago. He served with an overseas ambulance unit for seven months in the world war. Besides his widow, Margaret, McCanna is survived by five small children, one brother and a sister.
