"Jerry" Phelan, 56, of rural Wilmington, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at his home. Visitation: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Reeves Funeral Home, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wilton Center. Rev. Gerald Schubert will officiate. Burial: Full military honors, will be in Mt. St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wilton Center. He was a nurse for 18 years at the Tinley Park Mental Health Center, while continuing to run his hog farm in the Symerton area. Born December 8, 1950, the son of James A. and Mary Rita Lawler Phelan. 1969 graduate of Providence Catholic High School Nursing degree at Joliet Junior College in 1974 Served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a medic.
