Vickery, 67, of Manteno, died Saturday, July 15, 2008, at Provena Heritage Village. Services Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno. Father Al Heidecke will officiate. Mr. Vickery donated his body for medical research. Arrangements under direction of Brown Funeral Home in Manteno. Born December 3, 1940, in Kankakee. Started teaching at Marmion High School, then in Manteno, before spending 26 years at Peotone High School teaching chemistry, physics and math, and serving as a timer for football and wrestling. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, an avid fisherman, a charter member of My Sisters Bake Shop Coffee Club, and a volunteer at Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno. Survived by his mother, Marcella Wright Vickery of Bradley; brother, Harold (Rosalie) Vickery of Joliet; and a nephew, Jeffery Vickery of Joliet. Preceded in death by his father, Robert Vickery.
