Wolkow, 60, of Peotone, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at his home. Visitation: 3 pm to 8 pm 2/11/09 Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone, and 10 am 2/12/09 St. John's United Church of Christ in Peotone, until the 11 am funeral service. Rev. Bruce Salter will officiate. Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Peotone. Memorials: St. John's United Church of Christ, where he was a member; or to the family wishes. Parts manager at Country Supply in Peotone. Born April 15, 1948, in Joliet Son of Wilbert and Esther Wolkow. Served in U.S. Army and was a member and past commander of the Peotone American Legion Post 392. Enjoyed bowling, tended bar at the Will County Atrium for many years and collected toy tractors. Surviving: His wife, the former Janice Buck, whom he married October 7, 1972, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Peotone; Mother and Stepfather, Esther Wolkow Biesterfeld and Elmer Biesterfeld of Grant Park; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Ernst of Manteno, Jeanne Wolkow of Chebanse; 2 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Debra Buck of Momence, Lane and Linda Heatherwick of Peotone; Mother-in-Law, Leatrice Buck of Peotone; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Deceased: 1 son, Christopher R. Wolkow, November 7, 2008; his father; 1 brother, Wayne Wolkow; and father-in-law, Everett Buck.
