Journal Of IL State Historical Society, Vol 14 1921
Mrs. Lucinda Goodall of Marion, Illinois, celebrated her one hundred and third 
birthday on June 23, 1921, by helping cook dinner for a big birthday party. 
Her motto is, work hard, work right, eat meat and bread, and drink coffee, 
don't fear sun or rain, and treat everybody alike. Mrs. Goodall wears no 
glasses and often walks several miles. She has three children, thirty 
grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-
grandchildren.
