Obit of Annie Murrah dated in ink as Aug 8, 1951. Newspaper unknown but probably Johnston City Last Rites Friday 2 P.M. for Mrs. Annie Murrah Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Annie Murrah, 78, a resident of this city for more than 50 years. The services will be conducted at 2 pm at the family home 1008 Washington Avenue by Elder C.M. Weaver and burial will follow in Lakeview cemetery. Mrs. Murrah died at her home at 12:25 pm Wednesday following four months illness. She was the widow of Noah Murrah who died in 1942. The deceased was a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge. Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. O.L. (Grace) Seats of Ridgeway; Misses Lillian and Opel Murrah, Teachers in the local grade school and a son, Ray Murrah, clerk at the post office. A sister, Mrs. Maude Whittington, of this city, also survives. (**NOTE** Annie Murrah was the former Anne Newton b. 14 Mar 1873 in Williamson County IL and daughter of John Henry Newton and Mary Emily Oliver. Maude Whittington mentioned is sister Lela Maud Newton who married Harmon Jefferson Whittington.
