Obit of Ben LaMasters Dated in by hand in ink as May 21, 1960. Newspaper unknown. Ben LaMasters Rites Thursday Funeral services will be Thursday in Johnston City for Ben LaMasters, 73, Canton, Ohio, former Johnston City resident, who died Saturday in a Cleveland Ohio hospital. Mr. LaMasters, a Williamson county native, was manager of the Johnston City store of J.V. Walker and Sons for 18 years. He left the area in 1932 to work in Ohio stores owned by the Walker Firm. The Ohio stores were later sold to Hart, Shaffner and Marx. Mrs. LaMasters was the past president of the Johnston City Rotary Club, and a member of the Lake Creek Lodge 729, AF and AM, the Eastern Star Lodge 692, Johnston City, and the East St. Louis Shrine. He belonged to the Canton First Christian Church. He leaves his wife Fay, daughter Mrs. Nancy Cockran of New Orleans, La,; son Donald of New York City; two brothers and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday at Murman and Wilson Funeral home, Johnston City, whre friends may call after 10 am Wednesday. The Rev. William Reece, Johnston City Christian church, pastor, will officiate. Burial wil be in the Masonic and Old Fellows Cemetery, Benton.
