Obit of Dexter Williams Dated in ink as Nov 7, 1947. Newspaper unknown. D. Williams, 63, Johnston City Merchant, Dies Dexter Williams, 63, Johnston City merchant for thirty years died suddenly following a heart attack this morning at his home, 712 West Tenth Street. Williams had operated a grocery and meat market in Johnston City thirty years. He worked in the store yesterday as usual. He had known of his heart condition for several months, relatives said. Williams was born in Williamson County and had lived here all his life there. Besides his wife, Mrs. Eliza Williams, he is survived by three daughters, Misses Lois and Juanita Williams and Mrs. Carl Wisley of Johnston City; two sons, Clarence of Johnston City and Carol of Flora; a step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Droit, Thompsonville; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild; three brothers Tom, Archie and Herbie Williams of Johnston City. He was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church in Johnston City, where funeral rites will be held, with Rev. G.C. Kinney, pastor and Rev. Homer Young officiating. Funeral arrangements today were incomplete awaiting the return home of his daughter Mrs. Carl Wisley, who with her husband left last Sunday on a honeymoon trip to California.
