Obit of Ella Roberts Dated in ink as July 3, 1955. Newspaper is unknown but probably Johnston City or Marion. Mrs. Ella Roberts, Ill 6 Months, Died Sunday Mrs. Ella Roberts, 65, passed away at 2:35 pm Sunday at her home 1113 Burgess Avenue after six months illness with cancer. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Murman and Wilson funeral home by Rev. Charles R. Walker, Pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment was at Lakeview cemetery with Royal Neighbor Lodge in charge. Mrs. Roberts operated a dry goods store here for 14 years until illness forced her retirement in December. Prior to opening the dry goods store on Broadway, she and her husband operated a neighborhood grocery store adjacent to their home for 30 years. She was a member of Miller Camp no. 3148, Royal Neighbors and served in the office of Oracle for 20 years. She was service as recorder when illness forced her retirement. She is survived by her husband H.E. Roberts and one daughter, Mrs. Onis (Jessie) McFarland and one grandson and one great-grand daughter.
