Obit of Harvey Little Dated in by hand in ink as June 17, 1956. Newspaper unknown. Harvey Little, 71, 1118 Washington Ave., Johnston City, died at 1:30 am Sunday at the family residence. He had been ill for several years. Little was born Oct 30, 1884, in Franklin county and had resided in Johnston City the last 50 years. He was a member of the police force and served as fire chief there for several years. Prior to his retirement in 1951, he was employed as a watchman at the Old Ben Coal Co's No. 8 mine south of West Frankfort. Survivors include his wife, Rosa, a sister, Mrs. Thomas Ree, Dixon, Ill. Funeral rites will be observed at 2 pm Tuesday at the Murman-Wilson funeral home, whre the body is lying in state. Officiating will be the Rev. Homer Young, Nashville, and the Rev. W.R. Warner, pastor of the First Methodist church in Johnston City, whre Little was a member. Interment will be at Maplewood cemetery, Marion.
