Obit of Henderson McNeill Dated in ink as May 2, 1950. Newspaper unknown but probably the Johnston City Progress. H.McNeill, 77, Retired Carpenter, Passes Away Death at 7:25 pm Tuesday claimed Henderson McNeill, 77, retired carpenter of 802 Davis Street. He had been in failing health for the past three years. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church conducted by the pastor Rev. J.W. Ditterline. Burial was in the city cemetery. Mr. McNeil, a native of this county, was a resident of Johnston City more than half his life, coming here 46 years ago. He helped build many local dwellings and business places during most of these years. He was a member of the Methodist church and of the Carpenters union where he served in many of its offices during the many years he was an active member. He was married May 26, 1895 to Miss Maude Perrine, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Cooksey of this city and one son, Harry McNeil of Marion, Rt. 3. who lives just west of this city at Ferges.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
