Obit of John Fleming Dated in ink as Feb 11, 1956. Newspaper unknown but probably Marion. John Fleming Dies - Rites for Carterville Man to be Wednesday John W. Fleming, 79, died at 11:50 am Saturday at his farm home, Rt. 2, Carterville, East of Marion on Rt. 13. He was born near Johnston City on Dec 25, 1876 and had lived in or near Marion all his life. He married Ora Skaggs in 1907. A farmer he was a member of the Williamson County Farm Bureau. Fleming leaves his wife; sons Lester of St. Louis and Walter of Rt. 2, Carterville; daughters, Mrs. Grace Lamping of Detroit Mich., and Mrs. Llya Lannom of Goreville; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Mag Ahls and Mrs. Minnie Felts of Gary, Ind., and Mrs Alice Stamper of Guymon Okla. and brothers Newt and Hugh Fleming of Johnston City. Services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday in the Wilson-Frick Memorial Chapel in Marion with Rev. Floyd Jent, Carterville First Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilson-Frick Funeral Home.
