Obit of Kate King Barnes Dated in by hand in ink as Aug 26, 1956. Newspaper unknown. Mrs. Kate Barnes of Johnston City Died in St. Louis Mrs. Kate Barnes, 70, Johnston City, died at 6:15 pm Friday in Barnes hospital at St. Louis. She was the wife of Frank Barnes. A native of Carterville, she had lived in Johnston City 38 years and was a member of the Rebekah and Royal Neighbors lodges there. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Carl Barnes of Johnston City, and Fred Barnes, Chicago, and two daughters, Mrs. Don Moake, Johnston City, and Mrs. Kenneth Wardell, Chicago. A sister, Mrs. Agnes Christy and a brother John King, both of Long Beach, Calif., 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. The body will lie in state after 10 am Sunday at the family home at 1303 Pine Street in Johnston City. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the First Methodist church in Johnston City with Rev. H.O. Cook, Carterville, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. W.R. Warner, church pastor. Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery, east of Johnston City.
