Death Claims F. L. Rushing.  Former Carterville Merchant Died in Hospital.  
Funeral services will be held, Friday at 2 p.m. in the Grand Avenue Baptist 
church, Carterville, for Francis Luther Rushing, Carterville merchant for many 
years.  Interment in Oakwood cemetery.  He passed away at 12:15 a.m. in the 
Herrin Hospital, after an illness of three weeks.  He was born near Cottage 
Home, south of Carterville on May 7, 1879, the son of Francis and Sarah 
Rushing.  He is survived by his wife Frances Ellen Rushing, who he married May 
26, 1899; two sons and a daughter, Lester of Mt. Vernon, Robert F. of Herrin 
and Mrs. Marie Taylor of West Frankfort; seven grandchildren; five great 
grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Lucinda Baggott of Royalton.
