For several years she has been a patient sufferer from stomach trouble, but up until her last illness had been in very fair health. Mrs. McGurie was born in Mineral Point, Wis. fifty-five years ago. In 1894 she was married to Edward McGuire of Rockford, and has spent all of her married life in this city. For the past ten years she has made her home with her sister because of her ill health and the duties of Mr. McGurie demeaning his attention for the most part out of the city. Mrs. McGurie was of a particularly sunny disposition and pluckily struggled against the inevitable. She leaves to mourn her beside the husband, two sisters, Miss Margaret Burns, and Mrs. Sarah Collins, 0f 229 North Winnebago street, and will be sincerely mourned by many friends who learned to love and admire her and her great strength of character. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s church of which Mrs. McGuire was a devout member Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery.
