Fort Wayne Journal Gazette August 12, 1899
Evansville, Ind. - August 11.  Joseph Lynch, and employee of the Southern 
Express company, living at Milan, Tenn., was stabbed to death in this city 
this morning by Thomas Pinham, a negro.  Pinham was arrested.  His assault was 
unprovoked, and feeling against him is strong.
