Tombaugh, for nearly fifty years a resident of Fort Wayne and Allen County, died yesterday morning at 2:45 o'clock at the home of his daughter Mrs. John Sinclair, 1919 S. Harrison Street, at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 20 days. The deceased had been ailing for several months but not until two weeks ago was he confined to his bed. Death was due to senility. Mr. Tombaugh was born in Louisville, Stark County, Ohio, June 10, 1828. He was a veteran railroad man and worked as a member of one of the gangs which assisted in the construction of the Pennsylvania road. He was employed as a brakeman on construction of the line. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Tillie Levack, Mrs. Jessie Sinclair, Mrs. Edith Hardendorf, Daniel and Thomas Tombaugh, all residents of this city; Edward Tombaugh of Peru, Ind., and Mrs. Sarah Tilton of Danville, Ill. The deceased was a member of the Simpson M.E. church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of the daughter, Mrs. John Sinclair, Rev. Griest, officiating.
