Willson Dies At Home Double Funeral Services Planned for Prominent Couple. Martin S. Willson 80, a pioneer resident of Fort Wayne, died Sunday shortly before midnight at his residence at 2310 Hoagland Ave. following an illness of several months. Mr. Willson's death followed closely the death of his wife Mrs. Emma J. Willson 75, who succumbed last Tuesday after a long illness. Double funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon for the prominent couple who were active in religious and philanthropic work in the city for a number of years. Born in Mercer County, Penn. on February 27 1853. Mr. Willson came to Fort Wayne with his parents when a small boy and made his home here since that time. Until 11 years ago when he retired, Mr. Willson was employed at the General Electric Company. He was foreman of the test department for a number of years and later was transferred to the engineering department where he remained until the time of his resignation in 1911. Mr. Willson was a member of the Plymouth Congregational church and was senior deacon of the church. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Y.M. C. A. until recently and was the first member of that organization, the first membership card having been issue to him. Before the opening of the Y.M.C.A., Mr. Willson was a member of the board of trustees of the old Railroad Y.M. C. A. He was active in civic and religious affairs throughout all his life. Mr. and Mrs. Willson would have celebrated their fifty -nine wedding anniversary on Nov 11 of this year. Surviving are six sons, Harry L. Willson of St. Paul, Minn., Clinton R. Willson of this city, Fred M. Willson of Rochester, N.Y. C., Ralph Willson of Cleveland O., Capt. James D. Willson of the United States Navy, and C. A. Willson of this city; 19 grandchildren and nine great -grandchildren. All the sons with the exception of Captain Willson have arrived here. Mr. Willson body was removed to the Peltier funeral home, where it may be viewed with Mrs Willson's body Monday afternoon and Tuesday. Double funeral services will e held at the Peltier funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The 5 sons, who are in the city and a grandson James W. Willson, will act as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Lindenwood Cemetery. The Quarter Century Club of the General Electric Company will attend the services in a body.
