T. is the youngest son of VHAN & LYDIA (RUDDICK) NEWSOM. He was born in Sand Creek Township Aug. 13, 1842. Attended school in Sand Creek, and finished his education at the Indiana State University at Bloomington. Mr. NEWSOM, though quite a young man, is one of the wealthiest and leading farmers in Bartholomew Co., owning large farms in different townships; understanding his business thoroughly and attending to it strictly, he is very successful. Most of his time is spent in the management of his extensive farms, still he finds time to enjoy the good things of life, and his ever ready to converse or 'crack a joke'. He is, at present, unmarried. Mr. NEWSOM has quite lately purchased a choice farm in Flat Rock Township, where he at present makes it his home and on which he has a fine residence, a view of which he has inserted in his work.
