May 3, 1926. Margaret Anna Flora Beauchamp was born on May 1, 1841, near Hartsville, [Harrison County] Indiana and died March 11, 1926, aged 84 years, 10 months, and 11 days. She was converted early in life. Many times she has praised God for this love and protection when but a child and for Him who has been her guide and stay all through life. She attended Hartsville College and taught school several years. She was married to Josiah F. Beauchamp March 11,1860. She with her husband moved [from Vermillion County, Indiana] to Worth County, Missouri in May 1864, where they have lived all these years and labored incessantly for the home and the church they loved. They were charter members of the Prairie Chapel United Brethren Church. When the church was being built and there was need for money Sister Beauchamp would ride horse back through the community soliciting means so that the work might go on. She often praised God for the church she felt was built in answer to prayer and where God so often met with them and saved so many souls. Their home was always the minister's home. The church has sustained a great loss in the home going of these dear saints of God but we know that our loss is their gain and we bow in humble submission to our dear Heavenly Father who doeth all things well. Bro. Beauchamp passed to the eternal world March 2, 1925. There were eight children born into their home, two daughters dying in infancy. Those who remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother whose blessed influence will ever be felt in their lives are: May McKee, Abilene, Kansas; Lulu Hulet, Maryville, Missouri; Bertha Worth, Ft. Collins, Colorado, E. C. Beauchamp, San Francisco, California; H. O. Beauchamp, Sebastepol, California; and Willma, who remained at home and very tenderly cared for her parents in their declining years. Funeral service was conducted from the Prairie Chapel Church,Sunday morning at 11:00 o'clock in the presence of a large number of sympathetic friends and neighbors. Services were conducted by the Rev.C W Lucas, assisted by the Rev. J L Buckwalter of Mt. Carroll, Illinois. The body was tenderly laid to rest in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery.       Courtesy: Randy Neuman of United Brethren Historical Center.
