The Franklin Democrat, Friday, January 8, 1897, Volume XXXVII, Number 26, page 1, column 4
Fred Falk, thirteen year old son of Dr. Falk, of Indianapolis, was accidentally
stabbed Monday evening while 
scuffling with another boy, Thomas H. Hanna, the sixteen year old son of
ex-Lieutenant Governor Hanna.  The 
latter had an open pen knife in his hand and it seems the Falk boy was trying to get
it away from him.  In the 
scuffle the blade pierced the Falk boy’s heart causing death a few minutes after the
accident.  Dr. Falk 
formerly resided at Columbus.
