Boston passes away Sunday after a year’s illness and saw service during Civil War as a member of 81st Ohio volunteers Final taps were.. sounded for another aged civil war veteran Sunday shortly after noon, when John W. Boston, 84, father of Albert Boston, west Commercial street, passed away after an illness of the past year. His demise is attributed to a complication of diseases and old age. The funeral services which have not yet been definitely made pending the arrival of his daughter will likely be held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock from the home of the son, west Commercial street, in charge of Rev. Lewis Reeves. Interment will be made at Muncie. The deceased was born in Delaware county, Ohio, near Ashley, July 17, 1833, and moved to this city in 1896. He later moved to Tennessee and there to Muncie and finally made his home near his birth place in Ashley, Ohio. He was three times married. In 1854 he was united in marriage to Mary J. Elliott to which union five children were born, two surviving as follows: Mrs. Mary C. Bault, of Detroit, Mich., and Albert Boston, of this city. He was again married in 1912 to Ellen A. Roosevelt, at Ashley, Ohio, and at a later date to Francis Brumley, also of Ashley, now deceased. Mr. Boston was a member of the 81st Ohio volunteer infantry during the civil war and saw active service during the conflict. During his later life he was affiliated with the Dunkard church. The G. A. R. will probably assist with the services.
