Flora E. Turpin Hauhn --------------------------------------------------------------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Flora E. Hauhn, 78 years old, who died on Wednesday, March 31, 1954 at 1:30 p.m., were held April 3, in the Brownsburg Christian Church. The daughter of Harvey and Permelia Frances (Smith) Turpin, Mrs. Hauhn was born near Fayette. In 1892 the Turpin family moved to Zionsville where Mrs. Haughn graduated from high school. She later taught one term at the Hardscrabble District School and then attended bookkkeeping school in Indianapolis. She was employed as a bookkeeper for an Indianapolis concern when she met and married, Clyde T. Hauhn on August 14, 1898. He was at that time a postal letter carrier. Nine years later Mr. and Mrs. Hauhn moved to her parents' farm and two years later, in 1909, bought their own farm which they tended until 1924 at which time they moved to Decatur, Ill., for a year before returning to Indianapolis. They resided in Indianapolis to the present time. Mrs. Hauhn was a member of the Central Christian Church at Indianapolis. Following an eight-month tour of the west and northwest in 1947 and 1948 Mr. and Mrs Hauhn returned to Brownsburg in time to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in conjunction with the town's centennial celebration. Survivors are her husband, Clyde T. Hauhn; a sister Mrs. John F.
