JOHN BURR.

   John Burr was born at Redding Ridge, Fairfield county, Connecticut, March 3,
1803. He came to Carroll county, Indiana, in 1838, and was engaged in the
manufacture of boots and shoes to the time of his death, which occurred on July
24, 1885, leaving his wife, one son and one daughter surviving. In 1860 he
formed a business partnership with his son, John H. Burr, and after his death
his son continued the business until a few years ago, when he sold the business
to A. H. Brewer, who has since conducted the same.
