WILLIAM GUTHERIE.

   William Gutherie was born in Ross county, Ohio, April 30, 1829, and, with his
father's family, came to Carroll county, Indiana, in 1840. He was married to
Emily Wilson, a daughter of Dr. Robert I. Wilson, in 1871. He was county
surveyor in 1857 and 1871 and served two terms. He died on September 5, 1891,
leaving his wife and four children surviving.
