JOHN P. HANCE.

   John P. Hance was born in Jackson township, Carroll county, Indiana, June 30,
1830, and was raised on a farm. He was married to Lucinda Viney, March 3, 1851,
and to this union eight children were born.

   Mr. Hance served two terms as county treasurer, in 1876 and 1878. He was a
member of the Masonic order. He was one of the substantial citizens of the
county, esteemed and highly respected. He died at his residence in Camden, July
15, 1902.
