Odell (1916) JAMES W. KILGORE. James W. Kilgore was born in Franklin county, Pennsylvania, October 23, 1822. He came to Carroll county, Indiana, in 1846. He formed a partnership with William Dunkle, and manufactured plows, wagons and other agricultural implements for many years. This firm constructed a portable engine, one of the first in use in this country. Mr. Kilgore served as county commissioner in 1880. He was married to Mrs. Mary A. Witherow, April 7, 1852, Three sons were born to this union. He died about twenty-five years ago.
