OLDEST LADY CARROLL COUNTY DIES BRINGHURST AT 94

Penninah CARTER, said to be the oldest lady in Carroll county, passed away at
the home of her son, Dr. Henry CARTER in Bringhurst Thursday night, at the age
of 93 years, 11 months and 16 days. Had she lived until the 30th of this month
she would have been 94.  She had made her home with the son ever since he
located in Bringhurst, 21 years ago, and was born in North Carolina May 30,
1818. she was the mother of five children, two of whom were twins, bur Dr.
CARTER is the only one to survive her.  Funeral services will be held at
Bringhurst today (Saturday) afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. SPENCE. Interment at
Maple lawn.
