Indeed death was a friend. In her death the town and community loses one of its noble mothers. She was one who always saw the silver lining of the darkest cloud and had sweet words of comfort for those who came to her with their load of sorrows. For many years her aged husband has been an invalid and her constant ministering until him had been the cause of much favorable comment. In fact, there are those who believe that her loving devotion to him had been of greater benefit in his many serious afflictions than the physician's visits. Her great devotion to her family was almost a worship. The funeral was held at the Old Order church Monday at 10 o'clock by Revs. Balsbaugh and Fisher. Interment was made in the MOSS cemetery. Katherine [sic] REPLOGLE was born on the old REPLOGLE farm east of Camden September 18, 1842. She as one of a family of four girls and three boys, all of whom lived to be past 60 years of age, before the family circle was broken by death, Jacob, who died at North Manchester about a year ago, being the first to be called. Mrs. Willis FLORA, being about 75 years and the youngest, Aaron, about 61 years old at the time the first death occurred. On April 11, 1859, she was united in marriage to Jonas FLORA, a son of John FLORA, who entered the land where Flora now stands and who laid out the original plat and for whom the town was named. To this union were born eight sons and daughters, six of whom are still living and were with her during her last hours. They are: Harvey and Bert of Frankfort; Ira, Aaron, and Mrs. Walter HILL of Flora, and Mrs. Loren CRUME of Kappa. Bert was unable to attend the funeral Monday because his own companion lay dying at Frankfort at the very hour the obsequies of his mother were being carried out at the church here. Additional Comments: Her name is seen as CATHERINE in all records. She was daughter of David REPLOGLE and Sarah MOYER. Her husband Jonas FLORA died 9 Oct 1916.
