RODKEY died at his home on East Main street, Monday, of paralysis, caused by a fall from a building while painting in Dakota during the summer. He was born in Miami county, Ohio, Oct 24, 1841, moved with his parents to Howard co., near Burlington in early life, was married to Elsie J. JAMES in 1864. They lived in Howard county until about ten years ago when they moved to this place. He leaves an estimable wife and two daughters, Mrs. W. E. CALLANE and Mrs. George RIDGILL, to whom the hearts of the entire community goes out in deep sympathy over their sad bereavement. The funeral was held at the residence Wednesday at one o’clock by Charles R. Scoville, after which all that was mortal of J. B. RODKEY was laid to rest in Maple Lawn cemetery.
