All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/in/infiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Anne Livingston kybullittanne@yahoo.com November 15, 2007, 4:22 pm Ohio River Written: March 4, 1799 Recorded: February 21, 1801 4 Mar 1799 John JACKSON Junr. and Elizabeth his wife of Jefferson County and State of Kentucky and John SWAN of Scott County and the state aforesaid of the one part and Christopher FIFER of Jefferson County and said State of the other part... for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid have given granted bargained and sold one hundred acres lying and being on the North west side of the Ohio River within the grant made by the Commonwealth of Virginia to the Illinois Regiment commonly called the Illinois grant being part of a two hundred acre survey number one hundred allowed by the commissioners to John Swan and bounded as followeth: begining at D. R. a buckeye hickory and sugar tree the west corner of No. 100 and north corner of William HARROD's survey No. 99 running thence north fifty degrees east one hundred thirty three and one third poles to two small blue ash trees and Iron wood corner to John OWEN thence with Owens's line south forty degrees east one hundred and twenty poles to a Lynn (?) and two sugar trees corner to James ABBOTTs thence with Abbotts line South fifty degrees west one hundred thirty three and one third poles to a sugar tree and Buckeye Abbotts corner in the original line of the said No. 100 thence with the said original line to the east line of William Harrod's survey No. 99 aforesaid north forty degrees west one hundred and twenty poles to the Begining with its appertenances. And the said John Jackson Junior, Elizabeth his wife and John Swan do farther covenant and agree to and with the said Christopher Fifer his Heirs and assigns that whereas a mortgage for the land here in conveyed has been executed by the said Jackson and recorded in Scott Court and in consequence of the aforesaid payment of the two hundred dollars by the said Christopher the said mortgage is fully satisfied.
