The Franklin Democrat, Friday, July 1, 1898, Volume XXXVIII, Number 51, page 1, column 1
James Woodlock, while lying on the railway embankment near Henryville, with his head
in touch of the rails, 
was struck and killed Sunday afternoon by the fast train which passes through
Franklin at 6:23.  Two years 
ago he was run down by a freight train and one foot was cut off.  He was a man of
family.
