On the 15th day of June, 1861, William Brothers was shot fatally by the accidental discharge of a rifle in his own hands, dying the latter part of the first week in July. On Monday, the 8th day of the month, Auditor Hezekiah Wheeler appointed his brother, Harney Brothers, to fill out the unexpired term. John W. White having been elected county treasurer, resigned the trustee’s office in the month of June, 1883, when Eli Cooprider was appointed to fill out the term.
