STAUNTON.

A village in Clay county, on the Terre Haute & Indianapolis railroad, twelve
miles east of Terre Haute. It has a population of over 500, has a number of
manufacturing establishments, and deals largely in coal, which is found in
abundance about two miles south of the place.
